I Was Scared to Speak in Class, But Things Changed Slowly: My PlanetSpark Journey

By planetSpark

At first, I wasn't very excited.

The idea of talking to new people online felt strange. During my first few classes, I spoke very little. Most of the time, I answered with just a few words. My teacher encouraged me to speak more, but I was still shy.

There were also a few problems in the beginning. Once, I couldn't join my class because of a technical issue. Another time, the teacher I liked was replaced, and I felt disappointed. I had become comfortable with her teaching style and didn't want to start again with someone new.

I even told my parents that I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue.

But they asked me to give it some more time.

Slowly, things started changing.

The new teacher was friendly and encouraged everyone to participate. We did storytelling activities, fun conversations, debates, and speaking exercises. The best part was that nobody laughed when someone made a mistake.

That made me feel comfortable.

One activity I really enjoyed was storytelling. I got the chance to create my own stories and present them. At first, I was nervous, but after practicing regularly, I started enjoying it.

A few months later, something happened that surprised even me.

My school teacher asked me to explain a project in front of the class. Usually, I would have been scared, but this time I spoke confidently. I wasn't perfect, and I made a few mistakes, but I completed my presentation without freezing.

When I came home, my parents were very happy.

Another thing that changed was my communication at home. Earlier, if someone asked me about my day, I would simply say "good." Now I explain what happened in school, what games I played, and what I learned.

Of course, every class isn't perfect. Sometimes there are technical glitches or scheduling changes. Learning new skills also takes time and effort. There were days when I didn't feel like attending classes.

But looking back, I am glad I continued.

For students who are shy like me and parents searching for PlanetSpark student reviews, public speaking classes for kids, or communication skills programs for children, my advice is simple: don't expect instant results.

Confidence grows little by little.

Today, I enjoy speaking, sharing ideas, and participating in class activities. I still get nervous sometimes, but now I know how to handle it.

And for me, that's the biggest achievement of all.
